Beginning on February 27, and every other LAST Tuesday of the month -- April, June, August, and October, there will be a one-day mini-workshop/tutorial led by a member of TRAG. The cost for each of these will be $20 (or $25 if lunch is included). The cost will cover all supplies needed for the mini-workshop/tutorial plus the convener's time and talent.
At the February 27 event led by Pat Hovis-French, participants created a hand-made art journal based on the instructions in Pam Carriker's book, "Creating Art at the Speed of Life." Hopefully they will gather after completing their 30 exercises and share the results!
Helen Long led the second tutorial on April 24 and shared two weaving projects with the group.
The third Mini-Workshop/ tutorial led by Jan Rosenburg on June 26 introduced us to fun ways to use alcohol inks!
There are two more opportunities to learn a new technique in a mini-workshop:
August 28 – Jan Rosenburg / Silk Dye Hoops (Sign up to participate at the TRAG meeting or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. )
October 30 – Sandy Fearn / Origami Fun
Field Trips 2018
Our first field trip of 2018 took place on January 22. Ginny Campbell coordinated a fascinating visit to the Springfield Nature Center for the annual Eagle Day program. Afterwards, the group adjourned to nearby Neighbor's Mill for lunch and then traveled to Springfield Lake to see eagles (or at least see all of the mallard ducks gathered on the ice!
The second field trip was on May 30. We traveled to Bentonville, AR to view the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at Crystal Bridges.
There are TWO more field trips scheduled for this year:
Saturday, October 20 – Dogwood Canyon For more information:
Friday, November 30 – Dunnegan Museum of Art in Bolivar, MO
