The Table Rock Art Guild is pleased to announce that this year there are TWO recipients of their Maida Fannin Art Scholarships! The competition is open to seniors from the five Stone County high schools. The art teachers in these schools may each recommend one student, and the students so recommended then submit a portfolio of their work, a brief essay of how they would use the scholarship to further their growth in art and how it would enhance their career plans. The scholarship recipients were announced at a reception in their honor today at the Table Rock Art Gallery in Kimberling City. They are Zoe Schwyhart from Blue Eye High School and Carlie Holmes from Galena High School. Zoe was recommended by her art teacher, Ms. Nancy Jones; and Carlie was recommended by her art teacher, Brooke Villa. At the reception each of the artists shared background information about the pieces of their art that will be on display at the gallery until April 24. At that time, the artwork of both girls is being entered in the District Conference competition.
